Corporal Anders Roos and dragon Jürgen Weiss are accused of sodomy in 1714

During the summer of 1713, the 28-year-old Corporal Anders Roos got to know Jürgen Weiss, who was 22 years old, during an accommodation in Södertälje.

Both belonged to Captain Gotzell's company at Hans von Fersen's estate dragon regiment (Uppland's estate dragons), and began a relationship that lasted for about a year during the company's accommodation in various places in Sörmland and Västmanland. Roos had been married since 1710 or somewhat later to the Russian officer's daughter Maria Saplenia. The marriage had taken place during his time in St. Petersburg. Jürgen Weiss, who came from what was then Poland, was unmarried. The relationship ended dramatically with his wife's intervention.

Anders Roos in the general pattern roll for Upplands ståndsdragonregemente 1704 - 1714:
Anders Roos was, according to his own statement, born in Torsåsa in Smålands Kungahärad as the son of the drummer under King Karl XI's slaves Petter Nilsson Roos and Christina Justiana, who was born in Germany. Before Anders Roos was accepted as a soldier at Hans von Fersen's estate dragoons on June 1, 1713, he belonged to Colonel Banér's Kronobergers infantry regiment. Among other things, he took part in the bloody battle of Lesna in Belarus in September 1708. After the Swedish loss, he was captured and taken as a prisoner of war to Moscow. His name appears in a preserved prisoner list (Lista der Gefangenen in Mouskau). After about three years in captivity, he came to St. Petersburg as a galley slave, where, according to his own testimony, he, like hundreds of other prisoners of war, was forced to work on the moats. After a few years, he was redeemed by the shipbuilder Ritzer Bruun. A Pole, who had also been in Bruun's service, was able to certify during the trial that Roos, like himself, had been treated badly and beaten by his employer. They therefore chose to flee to Sweden together, which probably happened sometime in the spring of 1713.

Jürgen Weiss in the general pattern roll for Upplands ståndsdragonregemente 1704 - 1714:
The general pattern roll shows that Jürgen Weiss was 22 years old, of German descent and was accepted into the regiment on 10 August 1713 and had served for ¾ years. He had a red 9 year old horse with a blaze. In an interrogation report, he is said to have been born in the village of Batrovarsty, about 30 km from Kuritz.
